Date set for inquest into death of Blackpool couple Josh Pearson and Danielle Bamber in Peter Street fire
An inquest will be held into their deaths in December
Family, friends and the concerned public will hope to get answers next month after the death of a young couple in a house fire in Blackpool in the summer.
Joshua Pearson, 28 and Danielle Bamber, 24, were killed in a fire on Peter Street on Wednesday, 16 July.
It left a community in shock and their two children in hospital after a neighbour smashed into the property to pull them to safety.
Danielle was pronounced dead at the scene while Joshua died at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.
The circumstances of the fire were the subject of extensive rumours online before Lancashire Constabulary confirmed the fire was not being treated as suspicious following an investigation.
But coroner Alan Wilson will hear evidence from Lancashire Constabulary, Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service and North West Ambulance Service at an inquest into their deaths on 5 December.
DCI John McNamara, of Lancashire Constabulary, said at the time: “First and foremost my thoughts remain with Danielle and Joshua’s loved ones at this distressing time, particularly their two children.
“This has been a harrowing investigation which I know has had a profound impact for everyone involved. Nonetheless, they have worked diligently and professionally to understand how this devastating blaze occurred.
“We are now satisfied that this is not a criminal investigation and are in the process of preparing a file for HM Coroner.”
In a tribute Joshua’s family said: “Joshua was a much-loved son that will be sorely missed, who adored his girlfriend and children.”
Danielle’s family said: “We as a family are devastated by what has happened to Danielle, our daughter, and her family.
“Please allow us respect as a family to grieve in peace and refrain from any further speculation on social media and to refrain from posting further pictures of Danielle and her family. Please respect our wishes at our time.”
