Blackpool man and woman arrested after man stabbed to death inside his own hotel
Kevin Price was found dead at The Garfield Hotel on Sunday
A man and a woman have been arrested as part of a murder investigation launched after a hotel owner was found dead inside his business in Blackpool.
Police found Kevin Price, 59, dead inside The Garfield Hotel on Sunday (10 November) after receiving a concern for welfare call.
He had suffered a number of stab wounds and police therefore launched a murder investigation. A Home Office postmortem examination has confirmed that Kevin, who lived alone at his hotel, died as a result of the stab wounds.
Police, who have established a cordon at the hotel and have been visible throughout today (13 November), have now confirmed they have arrested a man and a woman on suspicion of murder.
They are a 50-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman, both from Blackpool. They remain in custody at this time, police said.
Det Chief Insp Simon Pritchard, of the Force Major Investigation Team, said: “My thoughts remain with Kevin’s loved ones at this time. His family have been told of the latest developments.
“While we have now made two arrests our enquiries are very much ongoing, and I would appeal to anyone who can help to get in touch.
“I am still keen to hear from anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity around The Garfield Hotel on Springfield Road between Thursday last week and Sunday.
“Please come and speak to us if you have any information at all as what you know could help us piece together the events that led to Kevin’s tragic death.”
