Blackpool hotel cordoned off as investigation into discovery of owner's body continues
The body of Kevin Price was discovered inside the hotel, with stab wounds, at the weekend
A Blackpool hotel is cordoned off as police continue their murder investigation after the owner’s body was discovered inside.
Police were called to The Garfield Hotel, on Springfield Road, on Sunday (10 November) after a concern for welfare call.
The body of a man, who police confirmed to be Kevin Price, 59 and the owner of the hotel, was discovered. He had suffered a number of stab wounds.
Crime Scene Investigation teams were still at the hotel on Wednesday (13 November) with the business itself cordoned off while police continue their investigation.
Lancashire Constabulary confirmed to The Blackpool Lead they were continuing with their enquiries.
Det Chief Insp Simon Pritchard, of the Force Major Investigation Team, said: “First and foremost my thoughts are with Kevin Price’s loved ones at this time.
“A murder investigation is underway and enquiries are ongoing. I would appeal to anyone who can help us to get in touch.
“I am especially keen to hear from anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity around The Garfield Hotel on Springfield Road between Thursday last week and Sunday.
“Even if you think the information you have is insignificant, please come and speak to us and let us be the judge as it could help us piece together the events that led to Kevin’s tragic death.”
